Dragon Boats Information

Dragon boat racing is one of the fastest growing sports in Australia, and the Murwillumbah Rowing Club is pleased to offer the opportunity for all Dragon enthusiasts to be part of the annual Head of The Tweed race.

This race will have special appeal to Dragon Clubs located in Northern NSW and South Eastern Queensland, who are interested in competing against each other in a long distance race.

The trophy, 'Dragon Head of the Tweed'  will be awarded to the winning Dragon Boat. Boat times will be recorded and later posted on this site.

The Tweed River is wide, safe & one of the most picturesque in NSW. The club is licensed to organise and manage this event by NSW Maritime with strict safety precautions in place.


All competitors will need to belong to a recognised Dragon Club and carry insurance. The race is run in conjunction with a race for rowers over the same course.
